L'Ultima dei Medici

A multidisciplinary project commissioned by UNESCO, produced by Regione Toscana and Fondazione Sistema Toscana, to promote the Medici’s Villas heritage sites. The output is a tv-series that involves more than 50 actors and contemporary artists from different sectors (visual arts, performing arts, music). The 14-episode series (one per site) has the aim of creating innovative and engaging digital content able to promote the charm of these historical places. The creative team decided to use a narrative gimmick: translate to our days the historical events of the Medici family. In addition, each episode is accompanied by an artistic performance of renowned contemporary artists. The rooms of the villas and the gardens revive the Renaissance vocation that promoted and enhanced Beauty and Arts. The series is written and directed by Tobia Pescia, with the artistic direction of Luigi Formicola. The original script has been conceived by Luigi Formicola, Tobia Pescia and Giulia Poli.
